Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Quantile, a browser-based tool for statistical figures and tables. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. Accounts

You need an account to upload data. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. An account is for one person, and signing in on a new device signs you out of other devices.

2. Free trial

  • New accounts can start a 3-day free trial. A card is required to start it.
  • You are not charged during the trial. When it ends, your subscription starts and your card is charged unless you cancelled before then.
  • There is one free trial per person and per card. A trial started with a card that already had one is cancelled at once, without any charge.

3. Subscription and billing

  • Plans are $15 a month, or $36 every 3 months. Prices are shown before you pay.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel anytime from Billing in your account menu. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for (or the end of your trial).
  • If a payment fails, access pauses until you update your card.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

4. Your data

You keep all rights to the data you upload. We use it only to produce your figures and tables. See the Privacy Policy for what is stored and for how long.

Do not upload identifiable patient information (names, record numbers, dates of birth, addresses or any other protected health information). Quantile is not set up for protected health information and does not sign business associate agreements. Upload de-identified data only. You are responsible for having the right, and any required approvals, to analyse the data you upload.

5. Acceptable use

Do not try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, access other people's data, resell access, or use Quantile for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.

6. Results

Quantile computes results with standard, published statistical methods, but you are responsible for checking that an analysis fits your data and question before you publish it or rely on it. Quantile is not medical advice and must not be used to make decisions about individual patients.

7. No warranty and limit of liability

Quantile is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Quantile after that means you accept the new terms.
